Interior photography for Home Beautiful magazine

This month also saw my photography featured in the March edition of Home Beautiful Magazine, one of Australia’s best loved lifestyle magazines.

The article was about tv rooms to die for and featured a fabulous lime green Ligne Roset, Togo corner sofa and bright orange foot stools and was a commission for London interior design firm Living In Space.

Earlier this month I had a whistle stop tour of the French alps on a shoot for Tui Travel.
We were out for four coffee fuelled days and stopped off in about five resorts ticking off the shots. No time for skiing though as once one hotel was shot it was back in the snow chain equipped peugeot and down the valley to the next resort. Still it is always nice to be out in the mountains and we came home with some great shots.

Yesterday saw the release of the sparkling new winter edition of Heart Home Magazine which is packed full of gorgeous interiors and home styling tips. For this issue I photographed the home of serial house mover Sarah Lazenby, who has moved house fifteen times over the last twenty-five years. She has now settled in the historic sussex town of Lewes and created a very warm and comfortable home in a Victorian terrace.

Finisterre Bise bodywarmer

If you are looking for a body warmer now that winter has finally decided to put in an appearance then look no further than the Finisterre Bise Mk iv. These are awesome; great close fit so you can wear it under a fleece or jacket, lightweight and tough with a ripstop outer. But most important, they are warm with a Primaloft Eco recycled synthetic insulation. They pack down small as well, so you can throw it in your pack, great for stops on bike rides so you don’t cool down too much.

interior photography for carine harrington

interior photography london

Here’s a peak at another property I shot recently for interior designer Carine Harrington. The owners had been inspired by the beach apartments in the Maldives which lead Carine to incorporate the wood paneling into the room as a clever storage area for all the family’s AV tech.

The chimney breast was clad in black stone tiles which gave a great contrast to all the wood whilst tying in the black Eames furniture and leather sofa. Despite the use of black and dark wood the room retains its light airiness thanks to the large white bay window with louvred shutters, which can easily be tilted to let in light without the loss of privacy.

Product photography done well can raise your profile and your sales. We’ve recently added a new ‘product photography’ section to the web site showcasing both studio packshots and products in a lifestyle environment.

I’ve been regularly shooting all types of products for companies large and small, from food to cosmetics, clothing to furniture.

If you have a collection of new items, or need a fresh take on your existing product range, call or email me and we can discuss how I can show your products off in the best light.

P&O Ferries have been sailing back and forth to Europe and Ireland on a daily basis for years, for many it is a great way to travel and you can take your own car. I was recently commissioned to take some shots onboard on two of the routes for P&O’s brochures. The first trip was an over night crossing from Hull to Rotterdam. The ship stays in dock all day in the Euro Port and so it was great to have it pretty much to ourselves to get the shots done before passengers came back onboard for the return journey. The next day saw a very early start to capture some shots up on the bridge at dawn as we came back to England past Spurn Head. I must say this was a very mellow place to spend a couple of hours, however that early out on deck the wind was ferocious and bitterly cold.

The next leg of the shoot was on the Troon to Larne in Ireland and then back to Cairnryan in Scotland. This needed to be fast paced to get the shots we required as the crossing was only just over an hour and the ships did not stay in port for long. I was glad of the mid week crossing as both ships were quiet and as they were quite small in comparison to the european routes, we concentrated on restaurants and café areas. in fact this shoot was really a floating hotel shoot concentrating on interiors and details with the focus on conveying the onboard facilities and the overall atmosphere of the ships.
