This year so far has mainly been about interiors; kitchens and bathrooms to be precise, with another 6 page feature in February’s Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom magazine (KBB). This time it features a beautiful spacious bathroom in a Victorian terrace in Stoke Newington which I shot for talented, London interior designer Lara Francis.

The bathroom is a very sumptuous space, black slate stretches from floor to ceiling and a huge Hoesch bath takes centre stage. The large sash window with bespoke roman blind looks out onto a lovely golden Rubinia which casts a dappled summery light and takes you away from the city. The walk in shower / wet area features a niche with coloured tiles and lights to add colour and contrast the slate. The room has a luxurious masculine scheme but feels calm and welcoming and is softened by the addition of key accessories like an original 1950s Norman Cherner Butterfly chair.

I know we are all hoping spring is just around the corner, with the promise of lighter evenings, flowers, new born lambs and all that, but don’t consign your hoodie to the wardrobe just yet; this is the UK after all. Anyway Plain Lazy sell a range hoodies and t-shirts you can wear at any time of year; these just happen to come from their new autumn/winter catalogues dream range which I shot for the guys last year. Have you ever had a dream when you thought you were floating? I often do…

interior photography for the kitchen store

I recently worked with The Kitchen Store, distributors of Manhattan Kitchens to shoot their new showroom in Sussex. The showroom has 14 full sized kitchen sets with two from the stunning Metris range. There are some great innovations out there from low energy LED light strips to illuminate the inside of your pantry cupboards to motorised draws which open for you with the slightest touch.

Manhattan kitchens have been producing luxury kitchens for nearly 50 years and have even fitted out several Royal apartments. Their massive factory is based in a listed building which used to be the carriage works for the London to Brighton South Coast Railway. When the trains moved on in the 1960′s, the kitchen company moved in and have been producing kitchens ever since.
